Every year, during the Alpine Music Festival "Alpenspektakel" at the organic hotel of Gut Sonnenhausen (Glonn, Bavaria), a public slaughter takes place. The slaughtered pig comes from the nearby farm of Herrmannsdorf.
The killing is carried out with great respect and care by experienced butchers. Festival guests are invited to watch the slaughter with the intention to recall the origins of our food, which we are less and less aware of in our contemporary society. Throughout the whole day, people can try various dishes prepared with the pig's meat. All of its enjoyable parts were cooked and eaten, respecting the "Nose to tail" philosophy.
